Damon Mackin is a local documentarian who produced The Quarantine Project, a visual that captures present-day during COVID-19 season.

Starring Mackin, the short film is a snapshot of a typical day in the life during quarantine and its nuances. A visual we can all currently relate to, the film features various sentimental Frederick landmarks as we watch Mackin fill his day with people, places, and things — COVID style.

Mackin says, “I made the movie out of pure boredom from not being able to do the things I would usually do after work. I wanted to show people that finding creative ways to adapt to any unlikely situation will help you make light of it.”

The synopsis is as follows:

“When boredom meets preparation.” That’s how the saying goes right? As we all have been experiencing, 2020 has been one for the history books. Global pandemics, hidden political agendas, oh; and “murder hornets.” As if the fear of catching COVID-19 wasn’t a good enough reason to keep us inside. What do you do when the life you knew is taken away from you? Do you wallow in thinking about the life you were forced to leave behind? Or do you find ways to adapt to the new circumstances placed upon you? Everyone should have a Quarantine Project they are working on during this time. This is one of mine. Introducing: The Quarantine Project.

Check it out.
