Vibrant Celebration of Heritage: The Hispanic Heritage Festival Along Carroll Creek

The Hispanic Heritage Festival held on Carroll Creek in Frederick this past Saturday was a vibrant celebration of culture, diversity, and community. The event, sponsored by Centro Hispano de Frederick, aimed to honor and showcase the rich traditions of the local Hispanic community and brought together people from all walks of life to enjoy a day filled with music, dance, food, and art.

The Centro Hispano de Frederick mission is to: “inform, refer and educate limited English proficiency (LEP) residents of Frederick County in order to promote full participation in community and the successful pursuit of opportunity.”

The festival featured a diverse lineup of performers who took the stage to showcase the vibrant rhythms and melodies of Hispanic music. From traditional folk dances to contemporary Latin hits, the performances captivated the audience and had everyone on their feet, dancing and celebrating together. The energy and passion displayed by the performers truly reflected the spirit of Hispanic culture.

Food vendors lined the festival grounds, offering a wide array of delicious dishes that represented the diverse culinary traditions of the Hispanic community. Attendees had the opportunity to savor mouthwatering tacos, empanadas, pupusas, and other traditional delicacies.
