Frederick Speaker Series Returns with Hip-Hop Legend Chuck D on April 18th

Now in its 11th season, The Frederick Speaker Series has developed a reputation for bringing world-class speakers to the Frederick area. The goal is to engage our community through enlightening discourse and meaningful topics.  As a result of the Series, Frederick’s reputation as an intellectual hub continues to grow, drawing audiences from D.C., Baltimore, and beyond.

This year’s lineup is Monica Lewinsky, Shannon Bream, James Comey, and Chuck D.

Chuck D. is set to appear on the Weinberg stage April 18th. Meet and greet tickets are available for patrons to purchase.

Chuck D is the leader and co-founder of the legendary rap group Public Enemy, the author of two critically acclaimed books, and a political activist, publisher, radio host, and producer. He has been featured on, or interviewed in, over fifty documentaries on music, technology, politics, and race as well as appearing in numerous public service announcements for national peace and the Partnership for a Drug Free America. Chuck D has also been a national spokesperson for Rock the Vote, the National Urban League, Americans for the Arts Council, and the National Alliance for African-American Athletes.
