OUT40 hosted its first annual 40 Fest, a celebration of local artists and businesses on the Golden Mile. Over 20 Frederick musicians performed; business vendors were in tow, all taking place at the Frederick Towne Mall. Check out photos and footage from the day!

On Saturday, OUT40 hosted 40 Fest, a community music festival celebrating the Golden Mile featuring local artists and small businesses.

Latina artist Lusmerlin debuts “The Paint Dancer,” a painting technique using her feet. This bold and interactive method tells the story from three lens’: subject, performer and object. It is “a self-portrait of an immigrant body, who chooses to be seen on her own terms,” the painter expresses.

While its always been time-consuming and costly, back-to- school shopping has become increasingly difficult as Frederick families have been feeling the national economic strain since the pandemic began.
