Hip Hop Artist to perform at the Urbana Library African American Read In!

The Urbana Library are excited to have Hip Hop Artist J-Fuze perform at the African-American Read In on Thursday, February 22, 2018.

The Read In is for students in grades 6-12. Participants are asked to bring a piece of poetry or prose written by an African American author to the read-in. Local artist, J-Fuze is expected to perform. 

 

The National African American Read-In (AARI) is the nation’s first and oldest event dedicated to diversity and inclusion in literature. It was established in 1990 by the Black Caucus of the National Council of Teachers of English to make literacy a significant part of Black History Month. This initiative has reached more than 6 million participants globally. Hope to see you there!
