A Week On 40: Summer Edition

Do you live on the Golden Mile and are looking for some summertime fun?! We’ve got you covered. Check out a week-long guide of things to do on 40 this summer that you can start today!

Many are unaware of everything the west side has to offer! It’s a strip of surprises: restaurants, drinks, trails, and more! Sure you can visit downtown, but why not explore 40 too? And what better time than summer!

We curated a list of some fun things to get into: for every day of the week!

1.99 Margarita Mondays!

On Mondays, it’s always a drag for the 9-5ers. It’s the start of the week, you’re still holding on to the weekends past, and you don’t want to go to work. But we have something for you to look forward to: 1.99 Margaritas at Fajita Grande! No, we’re not joking. They even temporarily added Tuesday as well, but we don’t know how long that’s going to last. So get in there and enjoy yourself for happy hour! Have a drink, or two, or three.

Movie Night!

Holiday Cinemas has always been cherished by Golden Mile residents because its ticket prices has always been competitively low and there’s always interesting movie choices. Trust us on this one. Back in the 90s, Holiday Cinemas was known as the “1.99 movie theater” around the way. Although it had to adjust to inflation, movie tickets are still only $4.50! Yup, you read right. And on Tuesdays, it’s even lower! Go with the fam, go with bae, or go by yourself to catch a film!

Wing Stop Wednesday!

Wing Stop recently opened on 40 by Burlington and it was something we all needed. Who doesn’t like good chicken?! Especially wings?! (all flats, please) After the Hard Times Cafe closing, Wing Stop was gladly welcomed in the city as a national favorite and we’re glad they chose 40 as their home.

Lallo’s Ladies Night!

Every Thursday, Lallo’s Pizza has Ladies’ Night with drink specials, a lit DJ, and great food. Ladies, come out, bring the girls, and show out. Fellas, we know you want to be where the ladies are!

But before you hit there, Il Forno’s Pizzeria is just a couple blocks down and has their weekly Thirsty Thursdays with endless drink specials during happy hour!

Crabs from Westpointe.

Ever heard of Westpointe Plaza? It’s a little shopping plaza that houses the well-known Westpointe Crab House. You’re not a real Marylander if you don’t secure the crabs for the summer. Sure their hours are a little odd, but their crabs are great! So grab a bushel and have a seafood picnic at one of the many family-friendly parks on the Mile.

Bar Hopping, 101

Orioles Nest likes to keep it fresh with the various events they host. They’re known for their bomb food, affordable drinks, and friendly atmosphere. Come for one of their crab feasts, $.50 wing days or karaoke night! It’s definitely a place to visit for a chill, good time.

Capital Crave is a hidden gem towards the end of 40. If you like $5 Long Island Iced Teas, and a plethora of original chicken wing flavors to choose from, this is your spot. Our suggestion? The Honey Rockets. No seriously. Try them!

Walk Along Rock Creek.

Anyone talk to Mother Nature? No? Then the Rock Creek Trail is a perfect time to get to know her. Check out Marylou Stone’s dope drawn guide to help you navigate. It’s a beautiful mini-escape right in your backyard.

Fun can be had out 40 too! Now you know where to find it.
